After two years of fieldwork, 85 people attended the presentation of the study results! Because of Covid-19, 51 participated by videoconference.
So is the Malakit strategy effective?
More than 4,500 kits have been distributed to 3,733 people, well used in 71% of the cases, a clear decrease in the use of black market drugs… Although other analyses are still in progress, the 3 principal investigators of the project consider that:
« In view of the results of the study, the feedback from facilitators and from the target population presented here, the project PIs consider that the Malakit strategy demonstrates its interest and recommend the continuation of the strategy with the adaptations needed »
