On July 16, a health promotion day was held in Oiapoque for people working in artisanal gold mining, sharing back the results of the Malakit/CUREMA projects.
The program included illustrated, translated posters presenting the research results, participatory games on malaria, leishmaniasis and sexual health, and an outreach booth connecting people to health facilities in Oiapoque and Saint-Georges.
📊 61 participants tracked, 73 booth visits, 46 people screened (HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C), 113 mosquito nets and 48 insect repellents distributed.
The event was made possible through the joint mobilization of DPAC, ID Santé, the Red Cross (EMIPAL), the CDPS (EMIP), the Oiapoque Health Surveillance team (Vigilância da Saúde) and DRISP CHU Guyane.
Feedback was very positive — and already helped identify topics for future workshops: vaccination, access to care, chronic diseases, violence.
